The Tourist Police Bureau, through the Pattaya Tourist Police Division (Division 2, Subdivision 1), successfully rescued South Korean nationals who had been forced to work in an illegal call center operation, following coordination with the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Thailand.

Authorities uncovered a private pool villa in Pattaya used to detain foreign laborers. Several South Korean victims were rescued. Over 50 electronic devices—including computers and mobile phones—were seized. A total of 20 South Korean men and 1 Chinese national were apprehended. Evidence related to fraudulent investment schemes and romance scams was found, with estimated damages exceeding 12 million baht.

Authorities rescued Mr. Hyun, a Korean national who had been forcibly detained and physically assaulted in a residence located in Najomtien Subdistrict, Sattahip District.
📍6 August 2025
The investigation was further expanded, leading to a search of another residence and office in Banglamung District. Eight suspects confessed to operating an illegal call center. Authorities seized 14 laptops, 4 desktop computers, and 15 mobile phones.
All suspects were handed over to the Chonburi Immigration Bureau for visa revocation consideration. The seized evidence was transferred to Huai Yai Police Station for further legal proceedings.
📝 This operation received formal commendation from the INTERPOL National Central Bureau Seoul. Ms. Jung Su-on, Deputy Director of INTERPOL Seoul, personally presented an official letter of appreciation to the Tourist Police Bureau for their swift and effective actions in combating transnational crime.
